Our very own science teacher, accompanied by Firs Farm Volunteers, will be providing children with the opportunity to learn all about nature in a number of tailored events, including pond dipping, nature trals etc. Children must be acccompanied by adults. Spaces are limited and you need to register to attend – there are a total of 12 spaces…so, what are you waiting for?
This will include a survey that our young eco-supporters will monitor and practice various ecological techniques identify and find various animal species.
We hope to find through our Saturday clubs, evidence of owls or birds of prey by looking for owl pellets, various invertebrates such as beetles, wood lice, centipedes, larvae by using Pooters
The woodlands will allow the eco club to set up animal friendly invertebrate traps ( all ethical). For our young eco-supporters (tree-rubbings), leave identification keys, nature trails and festive treasure hunts in the winter months; Halloween treasure hunt and find Santa’s helpers lost in the woods.
